Argonne Barracks - 1945 to 1994 updated 11 Sep 10

Jun 45 – 92 Army Troops Company Royal Engineers moved in to convert the barracks into a hospital
Officer Commanding: Major KC Brown
late 45 – Named No 6 British Hospital later BMH Iserlohn
1951 to 1970 – Shared with the Canadian Army
1978 to 1993 – NATO role of No 31 Field Hospital
Oct 85 to Oct 89 – Rebuilt completely at the cost of 70 million Deutsche Mark
24 Mar 94 – Closed due to 'Options for Change'
Last Commandant: Colonel MJ Tinsley RAMC
2000 – SOLD now BITs Business and Information Technology School

  1. I was in BMH Iserlohn Pathology Lab from late 1957-September 1958 and treid to 'click' on the photo albums but 'Google' c ame up with an 'error 404' and i couldn't see the photos.
